Why clothes swap parties are the best

Why clothes swap parties are the best

We all have a few bags of clothes that are really nice but for some reason we just don’t wear them anymore. Why not get together a group of friends and swap clothes? You’ll get rid of clothes you no longer wear that are taking up precious space in your wardrobe and you’ll walk away with an armload of fabulous ‘new’ clothes you can’t wait to wear without paying a cent! Fast fashion is destroying our environment and is simply not sustainable, clothes swapping is kind on the environment and an amazing free alternative to hitting the mall. All the leftover clothes that nobody wants are then donated to a charity, making the whole process super feel good.

How to have a clothes swop party

  • Send an invite to a few of your friends, aim to have around 10 people. Could be much more!

  • Try not to get caught up in sizing. Strangely this always works out. Some people like things over sized and others like things fitted. People will bring smaller things that no longer fit them or visa versa so there’s always a lot of choice when it comes to sizing.

  • You can bring clothes that are for charity too as all the leftover clothing from the clothes swop is donated, usually to a women’s charity.

  • Make a whole morning of it, get snacks and mimosas, you’ll be surprised by how fun it is.
